This is a little experiment I put together in Godot. It's a simple proof-of-concept: taking a base icosahedron and subdividing it to create a hexagonal grid for planetary surfaces.

Just a quick tool to play around with procedural shapes. Move the sliders, generate some weird-looking planets, and see what happens!

You can navigate and interact with the planet generator using the following controls:

  • Slider Adjustments: Use your Mouse to click and drag the sliders to modify parameters (like size, noise, or subdivisions).
  • Rotation: Click and drag with your Left Mouse Button to rotate the planet.
  • Zoom: Use your Mouse Wheel or W and S to zoom in and out.
  • Touchscreen: This tool is also touch-friendly. You can rotate the planet using a single finger and zoom using a pinch gesture.
